Our Story

On the 1st April 2022 the management of the Breamlea coastal reserves transferred from the City of Greater Geelong to Barwon Coast Committee of Management Inc. (Barwon Coast). This includes the management of the Breamlea Caravan Park.

As coastal land managers for the Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and 13th Beach areas we have a vision that the natural environment of our coastline will flourish whilst meeting the needs of our engaged communities. We now extend this vision to the Breamlea coastal area.

Barwon Coast is appointed by the State Government to care protect and manage coastal crown land reserves on behalf of the Victorian Community. This includes 19km of coastal land between Collendina and the western end of 13th Beach.

Barwon Coast also operates the Barwon Heads Caravan Park, Riverside Family Caravan Park and the seasonal bush camping area, the Riverside Campground. All revenue raised through the operation of the caravan parks and campground is used for the management and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure of all coastal reserves within the Barwon Coast area of management including the Caravan Parks.

The coastal reserves managed by Barwon Coast have a very high conservation value and play an important role in providing a diverse and quality terrestrial and marine habitat for all local native species of flora and fauna, supporting overall ecological sustainability.

Barwon Coast works hard to protect these environments in particular the barrier sand dune system that protects the beach and inland areas from sea surges and wind laden with salt spray.

  A great little caravan park in the quiet hamlet of Breamlea. Generous sites with access to power and water (although you may need 20m+ of hose and power lead). Amenities are well looked after and cleaned twice each day. Highly recommend sites 200 & 201 for a pair of cans as they have a sheltered picnic table between them. Camp kitchen does not have cooking facilities but there is a BBQ nearby.
